1881 Census Data

The source data for these distribution maps has been extracted from the LDS 1881 British Census resource file. Where possible the many mistakes in transcription of the name have been amended.

Hyperlink	Description
Totals By County	This distribution dataset shows the numbers of individuals in the 1881 taking no account of the four main variants of the name. There are hyperlinks for the main areas which will open a popup window which breaks down these numbers to 1881 registration districts.
Surname Variants	This dataset plots the occurrence of the Bolstridge, Boulstridge, Bostridge, and Bouldstridge variants. There are hyperlinks for the main areas of the map which will open popup windows showing the actual census parishes.
